–A recovered Ohio ID card was turned in to Salem police at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday and secured in the department’s lost property. Officers will attempt to locate a current address to notify the owner.

–Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday for a report of illegal dumping. Officers spoke with both parties involved and resolved the issue.

–Officers responded to a residence on the 100 block of Sharp Street at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday for a domestic dispute. The caller claimed his live-in girlfriend would not leave him alone and stay in her room. His girlfriend claimed she was staying in her room and he kept bothering her. Officers advised both parties to stay apart for the rest of the night.

–Officers responded to the 100 block of Sharp Avenue at 3:26 a.m. Tuesday for a domestic in progress. The caller claimed that her partner had called his sister to physically harm her following an argument. The man’s sister was present when officers arrived. The caller claimed both parties had been consuming alcohol and that the argument had been caused by the man texting another woman. The incident was determined to be purely verbal and all parties were separated for the night.

–Officers responded to a residence on the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 1:01 a.m. Tuesday for a domestic dispute. The caller complained that her grandson had come home after curfew. The grandson claimed he went to see the fireworks in Columbiana and had texted saying he would be late. The two discussed the issue and resolved it.

–Officers responded to the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday for a fireworks complaint. Officers observed the area for several minutes, finding no fireworks being set off.

–Officers responded to the area of the railroad tracks near Newgarden Avenue at 12:21 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a suspicious person. Officers spoke to a woman who claimed they were just picking up rocks near the tracks. Officers informed her the railroad tracks were private property and she shouldn’t be near them. The woman said it wouldn’t happen again.

–Officers recovered a lost cell phone on Jennings Avenue at 10:46 p.m. Monday.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of South Madison Avenue at 10:43 p.m. Monday for a fireworks complaint. Officers checked the area, finding nobody setting off fireworks.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Monday for an irate man in the roadway. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller and attempted to locate the man unsuccessfully.

–Officers responded to a business on the 2200 block of East State Street at 10:12 p.m. Monday for a disabled vehicle. The caller claimed that when he pulled his truck into one of the car wash stalls the drain grate had buckled, trapping his front passenger tire. The owner of the car wash and Kaiser Towing were contacted. The vehicle was removed and the owner responded to the scene to resolve the issue.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 10:04 p.m. Monday for a fireworks complaint. Officers checked the area, finding nobody setting off fireworks.

–Officers responded to the area of South Avenue and Euclid Street at 9:42 p.m. Monday for a fireworks complaint. Officers checked the area, finding nobody setting off fireworks.

–Officers responded to the 1300 block of East State Street at 9:21 p.m. Monday for a water line break. Officers confirmed the water line break and contacted the water department.

–Officers responded to a residence on the 700 block of Prospect Street at 8:59 p.m. Monday for a wellness check with Salem Fire Department. The caller claimed she had not heard from her son all day and was worried. Officers successfully contacted the resident who said he had been sleeping.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 8:37 p.m. Monday for a speak with an officer. The caller claimed a woman had been walking around the property pretending to be working with Visiting Angels. Upon arrival officers spoke to the caller and the woman who were arguing. The woman was taking care of another resident on the property and the caller was upset she was impersonating a nurse from the business, as she doesn’t work there. The woman was told to go take care of the resident she was there for, and both parties instructed to leave the other alone.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of West Pershing Street at 8:05 p.m. for a juvenile experiencing a mental issue. Upon arrival officers spoke with the juvenile and their mother. Officers requested Salem Fire Department and KLG respond. Salem Fire Department and KLG performed an evaluation of the juvenile determining that the juvenile need to be transported to Akron Children Hospital for mental evaluation. KLG transported the juvenile.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 8:01 p.m. Monday for a domestic in progress. Upon arrival officers spoke with a woman who explained she and her partner had an argument about him not wanting her to go with a friend to Columbiana to watch fireworks, and he had left prior to the officers’ arrival. The incident was verbal only.

–Officers responded to the area of Washington Avenue and Mound Street at 7:52 p.m. Monday for a domestic in progress in the street. Officers checked the area but found nobody in the street.

–Officers responded to a residence on the 500 block of Aetna Street at 7:19 p.m. Monday for an open 911 line. Officers spoke with the residents who said everything was fine. The line was still open while officers were present but the residents checked their phone and the open line could not be found.

–Officers responded to a Rose Avenue residence at 6:25 p.m. Monday for a distraught person. Officers spoke to the woman who was having some issues concerning one of her neighbors. Officers advised the woman of her options for dealing with the issue.

–Officers responded to a business on the 1400 block of Allen Road at 6:10 p.m. Monday for an alarm activation. Officers arrived on scene finding the gate open along with a large bay door. While checking the interior of the building officers were advised the alarm company had called back to cancel the alarm. Officers located an employee on scene, who was preparing for the night crew’s arrival.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of West Wilson Street at 5:28 p.m. Monday for reports of a man standing in the roadway yelling and not moving for vehicles. Officers arrived and found the man, who had been given a disorderly conduct warning for a similar incident prior. The man was placed under arrest and placed in the rear of a patrol car. While in the car the man smashed his head into the divider and caused harm to himself. First Responders and EMT were called to the scene, and the man was transported to Salem Regional Medical Facility by EMT. The man was evaluated and transported to Columbiana County Jail once medically cleared.

–Officers responded to the area of the railroad crossing and West Pershing Avenue at 4:42 p.m. for reports of an intoxicated person. Officers were able to locate the man and gave him a courtesy transport.

–Officers responded to a residence on the 800 block of West Wilson Street at 4:12 p.m. Monday for a person to be removed. The caller and several other people at the residence claimed there to be a known man there who had threatened them. Nobody wanted to press charges. The man was trespassed from the residence.

–Officers responded to a business on the 2200 block of East State Street at 4:01 p.m. Monday for a hit and run complaint. Officers spoke with the caller who claimed a customer had hit the drive through pillar. Photos were taken of the damage and a report number was provided to the caller.

–Officers responded to the 100 block of West Fourth Street at 1:48 p.m. Monday for reports of a vehicle trespass that had occurred between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and just prior to their complaint. Two lottery tickets valued $10 each, loose change, and a key had been stolen from the vehicle. Some change had been found on the ground in the alley leading East.
